Our culture is changing everybody wants to be the new buzz. A new buzz, a new era, a free era?
Yes a free era, I call it a FRERA. A free state of mind, a free opinion, free advise, free things and free stuff.
Everybody likes free things and we are searching for these free things now because of the economic crisis. But does free equals good ROI. No, because for every product that is out there in a shopping mall or a convenient store, free equals now and not tomorrow.
So will people buy the product after they got a free sample, probably not only if it’s “love at first sight, taste, smell”.
So being the new free buzz is a way to get your product out there, but let the product buzz me by somebody else. One of the best examples in this FRERA is free for them,celebrities, a buzz for me.
The buzz about a brand called Ace of Spade – Armand de Brignac Champagne. This unknown champagne is bottled in France by a family called Cattier. Jay-Z decided to put this champagne in his video “Show Me What You Got” in 2006. and in a year time they could sell 3 times there year stock of 60.000 bottles.
Free for them, 300 euro bottle for me. The gold bottle, with the ace of spades on it, definitely buzzed a couple of my more wealthy friends.
1. So it has to be free for them, not for me
2. Otherwise it won’t buzz me
3. When it buzzed me, then I would want it to be free because it is so expensive
