An interesting diversity of your product

Today, stumbled upon something remarkable.

Let’s just say it took me a second or two to realize what they had done. Diverse your product and product brand make it into something special. It is amazing what they did. They took something they all ready had and made it into something usefull.

They didn’t think outside the box, they thought inside the barrel in this case. So all the barrels they aren’t using anymore they sell for adding a whisky flavor to your BBQ meat. Let’s just say it’s something remarkable. It really is because they took an established product and a lot of my friends are Jack D. fans. The start of something completely different. A new product line and a completely new market for them.

Barrels of wine aren’t wood chipped at the moment, at least not that I know off. It would be awesome If you could add all kinds of Wine/Beer/ etc tastes to your BBQ.

Competition keeps you going, Sharing keeps you growing

I realized something today. Competition keeps you going.

Amazingly man vs man, it keeps me going.
Being creative and being motivated is sometimes not enough. Sometimes you need an external Push. I think I’m very competitive like every Marketeer. When somebody created something new, a flash of my mind always says “hey you, you could make IT better or you could make That be IT with a few adjustments.”

I have some new product Ideas. Maybe I should patent them or maybe I should just share them. Because some competitor will take my idea and make it better. And maybe it would benefit others more then my original idea.

That’s why I’m seriously thinking about starting a think tank. A think tank with some great minds and some great product designers. It will help me process my flaws in some of my product ideas and help me create new products. So instead of sharing them with the world. I share them with a small get together. Sharing keeps me growing I think, because I also for a company called ID-T.be (event industry). Everybody is treated equal so the best brainstorming happens when we go out on an incentive, when there are no strings attached.

It will start as just small talk about the business or talk about small business. So I share my idea and we will build on that idea. Isn’t this the normal way? You ask yourselves (or people that read my blog). You would be surprised how many ideas that come to my mind and I don’t share them with the world. So maybe I should everyday with a new product idea as kind of a PS. So I’m going to share my ideas and make people aware of my stupidness or/and my smartness.

Below some great competitor ads.

Look at all the great ads that are build with competitors. This ad above from Adidas vs. Nike. It is saying a lot about Adidas keep it simple method of marketing, while Nike is always having these amazing TV-ads. Let’s just say competition keeps them going.

Like the new ads from Audi in the USA. It’s amazing how they manage to keep so competitive. This one is my favorite:

I always was very competitive:

– sometimes it’s because I now I can do better as the rest
– sometimes when somebody is better I just can’t stand it that they are better.
– sometimes  it’s just fun being first – like the Audi ad says.

PS: product idea: wouldn’t it be cool if someone would make an application where you can be your own reporter on your phone and in the evening you can watch your news. It’s like a videoblog (vlog) but cooler.
