Inspiration is not inside me or you, it’s inside us
This is what happens when you tell a friend or a colleague or a family member. Sometimes they won’t care about your blog and sometimes people will take interest in your blog.
So inspiration is inside us. This WE form of communication is going to get you further in life then ever before. So I asked her (my friend) what might be a good idea for my blog today.She said this “The ad from CadBury about Chocolate with a Gorilla on the drums”:
I never saw it and I was dazzled by the inspiration of the creators of this ad. A Gorilla being passionate about Phil Collins drum roll in the song “In The Air Tonight”. This is what people are talking about, even after almost 3 years after it originally aired. In the beginning I had to watch a few times to see the association. Every Marketeer looks for association between their brand and product. Well forget that, association is not a way to sell your product.
Let’s just say it’s boring.
Audi and all the other car brands – always show a car in their ads. What If they wouldn’t do that anymore. What if they showed nothing at all. Or just the tiniest part of the car. And it would say: “We never forget, all the parts are important”. I would remember such ads.
Breakfast Cereals – always show their mascot with children eating their cereal at the breakfast table. What if they would position it as a product you can also eat at night, after a night of partying ( I mean not in the morning). What if Tony the tiger would give TigerPower after a good make out. I would remember such ads.
Back to inspiration. Today I started my brainstorm group (without Tony The Tiger).
Well I started a brainstorm group with my friends and they don’t know it yet and probably they never will. I use everyone around me, my close friends and my worst enemies.
Because if I have a problem I consult it with people, friends, colleagues,etc. But when I have a marketing problem and I get stuck, I always resort to the internet. And it may have all the answers but it’s a big pile with answers. It’s like finding a needle in a haystack.
So I consult friends and family and ask them what they would do. Realize that none of them have any marketing experience what so ever. And as a matter of fact they will inspire you! Well not every time but give or take about 75% of the times.
So maybe I should say thanks and maybe I should tell them about my blog so they know I appreciate the help. But then they’ll know that they are helping me and it would effect their behavior. They are being spontaneous and that is being creative and that inspires me the most.
